PAYABLES & RECEIVABLES

Revenue and income. Purchases and Payments.

Accounts receivable refers to outstanding balances owing to your company for products or services customers have purchased from you, as well as sales and revenue. Generally, a company would hire an accounting technician or accountant to create invoices and monthly statements to send to customers, record the transaction in an accounting system, and reconcile the transactions every month to ensure all incoming cash and deposits are duly received while also helping to prevent fraud.

Accounts payable refers to outstanding balances your company owes for equipment or services your company purchases from other companies, or vendors, as well as expenses and payments. An accounting technician or accountant receives bills and matches them with proof-of-delivery or verify rendered services with management before issuing payment. Monthly bank reconciliations help prevent duplicate payments and invoicing errors, saving money.
